Another succesful show is behind us. The 22nd of February was a beautiful day for the provincial show. With four cows and 3 heifercalves we headed to the show. In the junior 2 year old class Koepon Explode Qualsiasi placed 4th in her class and was awarded best udder in her class. She is an Explode daughter of Koepon Baxter Qualsiasi VG88. Her Uno son headed off to AI just weeks earlier. In the senior 2yr old class Koepon Snow Regenia 91 (s. snowman) placed 1st in her class. A young dairy machine straight out of the family of Regan-Joy Durham Regenia. Regenia 91 is one of 13 halfsisters which all scored VG as 2 yr olds. Two of these have gone on to score excellent allready. Making this one of the highest type families in the herd.
The two youngest heifer calves of the show were shown by Daniel en Matteo Borst. Both were HammerCreek Fred Krunch daughter out of Koepon Planet Classy 62 VG87. Both calves are 2300 GTPI and will become part of our flush program as they age. They placed third and fouth respectively in the youngest calf class. The boys had a lot of fun in the show ring as they put there best foot forward.
An august oak heifer calf showed by Lisanne Borst went on to easily win her class and ended up winning the heifer calf champion of the show. Minutes later Lisanne also won grand champion showmanship. With over 40 kids competing it was an awesome result. Oak Classy 152 is an Oak daughter out of an Iota and going back to Koepon Shottle Classy 17. One of the big time bulldams at Koepon.
After a long day another show is behind us. The next show is the NRM the dutch national show. Hopefully our top cows will be ready for that one.
